Signing up with a work at home company
It appears that our country may be in for some hard times ahead of us. Every time you turn on the news, you hear of another company laying off employees or closing its doors because it’s not making a profit. You figure that you might want to see if you can locate a job or two that doesn’t require you to work for anyone else but yourself. So you decide you are going to sign up with a work at home company and earn some income that way.
So you’ve signed up and now what? You understand that you get business from the work at home company based on bids that you win. But you are having the hardest time making that happen. What exactly are you missing? Perhaps a quick look at your portfolio might help us find out what the problem could be. So after looking over your profile you think it looks fine and think that can’t be it. But I’m here to see if I can shed a little more light on that.
You’re profile is really what helps you make money. Oh sure, you’re notes on every bid are polite and professional and you offer low prices for a reasonable work deadline. And you still aren’t getting hits like many other individuals that you see who are bidding against you. What do they have that you don’t have; an updated profile.
So when you look at your profile if all you see is your name, company name and rate per hour, then I can tell you now, this is probably why you haven’t gotten a single bite. You’re profile is like your resume when you working with a work at home company. This is your marketing tool. So this is where you would put all your accomplishments. Where you would show samples of your work or post your URL for any other sites that you have to show as samples. This is where you talk about you, you, and more you. Your profile for most people is your resume. You see the individual that hires you can’t see you face to face so they have to go on what you offer them. Most of that information will come from your profile and if it’s a good one, then you are more than likely looking at your conduit for a lot of business. So take a minute and update your profile.
