Work At Home Moms
I have two friends who happen to be work at home moms. I often ask them if they still enjoy it. I often enjoy listening to their stories about their adventures of life at home with the kids and work. Many times we talk about the way our work varies. Them working at home as mothers and me working at home. My favorite stories to listen to are the ones where they share how they got started working at home. I share them with those moms that I meet who want to know how to start working at home. One of my friends who are part of the work at home moms, began almost on accident. She was working for a good size firm in a big city after she got married. She was doing great and loving it, good life, great job, wonderful husband, and then she got pregnant. Now my friend was your typical corporate America woman. She was not about to stop working because she had a baby, she truly loved her job. But then she had her beautiful baby boy and when her maternity leave was almost over, she realized that she couldn’t bare to leave her son for two hours much less 10 to 12 hours as she used to put in. So she asked her boss if she could work from home initially. And he said yes.
Now she’s home taking care of her son and doing what she loved. Well after a while she had another precious bundle of joy, a baby girl and then they need more income. Since she was now able to do her job at home in under four hours, she was able to take on two additional jobs as a freelancer for two other firms and just like that she was really working from home. She was able to continue to bring in her regular income and then some. All while watching her two beautiful children grow up and not having to miss a single moment of that wonderful process.
Now not everyone mom may like to work at home. Some of them will enjoy going back to work and there is nothing wrong with that at all. Some women like that option.
